About this project.
This tall welcome sign brings together a flag-inspired cross, raised lettering and engraved passages in one wood composition. Contrasting tones and natural grain give the words and details a character of their own.
The build starts with arranging and joining the panel sections. CNC work shapes the cross and lettering details, followed by a contrasting fill in the engraved text. The finished photographs show the depth of the layered elements and the grain running through the piece.
Every commission starts with your own idea. The imagery and wording here belong to this piece; a new project can take an entirely different direction.
